Mumbai: Shiv Sena UBT MLA Aaditya Thackeray has questioned if Maharashtra Minister and Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Shirsat, will be sacked from the Devendra Fadnavis-led cabinet over an alleged video of a bag full of cash in his room.
"This man in the video is a cabinet minister in the Government of Maharashtra. The crucial question is will CM Fadnavis ji sack this man? He has received an Income Tax notice, yesterday, his scams have been exposed by us in recent times, but the arrogance of this man is unchecked- only because he believes he is with the BJP and nobody will touch him," Thackeray said on X.
A day after being served with an Income Tax notice, a video of Maharashtra's Minister for Social Justice smoking a cigarette besides a bag full of cash has been making rounds on the internet. The minister was served notice regarding the increase in his assets between 2019 and 2024.
MLA Sanjay Shirsath Reacts To Viral Video
"This is a well-thought-out conspiracy. I am sitting comfortably in my house, and my dog is sitting as well. Someone has recorded a video of this, which suggests they were spying on us," the minister said in his defence.
He further said, "We are such people that anyone who visits our home eats food and drinks tea. It is our responsibility to supervise the workers. There might be an agent among them, but we do not worry about it, nor have we ever seen anything suspicious... Have you seen someone living in the house openly sitting beside money? This is unusual. But we will definitely respond to this conspiracy." Shirsat was quoted saying by ANI.
