Mumbai: Raising the issue of the Ladki Bahin scheme, NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule on Saturday claimed that the payment of Rs 4,900 crore under the scheme to ineligible beneficiaries was a scam.

“Even the women and child development minister Aditi Tatkare has admitted that nearly 26.34 lakh ineligible persons, including men, were availing benefits of the Ladki Bahin scheme,” Sule said.

“Farmers are committing suicide, and yet the government is focused on self-promotion,” the executive chief of the NCP(SP) alleged. Sule also slammed the BJP-led Mahayuti government for failing to address the rising crime rate in Maharashtra, accusing it of being a mute spectator.

Addressing media persons, Sule said the situation in Pune or Beed was almost the same, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis thinks the crime rate was on the rise in Pune only. “But who is responsible for this,” asked the Baramati MP, saying miscreants had no fear of the law.
SIT Formed in Mahadev Munde Murder Only After Widow Met CM
“We were constantly demanding the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murder of Mahadev Munde from Parli. Almost two years have passed, but no investigation has been done in this case. Now, after Munde's wife, Dnyaneshwari Munde, met with the CM, the SIT has been formed," Sule said, demanding the probe should be transparent.
Don’t Let Outsiders Disturb Communal Harmony in Yavat: Sule
Expressing concerns over the tense atmosphere in Yavat in Pune district after the communal unrest, Sule said, some leaders and outsiders coming in and inciting unrest is unacceptable. “We have deep roots in Daund. Let's not allow outsiders to disturb the social integrity,” she said.
