A 34-year-old labourer was electrocuted after coming into contact with a live wire at a construction site in Bhiwandi on July 30. The deceased has been identified as Narayan Yugeshwar Kamat, alias Chaudhary, a resident of Barave Gaon in Kalyan West, originally from Bihar.
Accident Occurred While Removing Shuttering
The incident took place at a construction site in Govenaka, located along the Kalyan-Bhiwandi Road. According to police, Kamat was removing shuttering (iron framework) from the slab when he accidentally touched a live wire and died on the spot.
Victim Declared Dead on Arrival
Bystanders rushed to the scene and took him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

FIR Filed Against Contractor, Co-Worker
A complaint was filed by the deceased's brother, Anil Chaudhary, at the Kongaon Police Station. Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered under Section 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against contractor Manoj Dilip Patil and Murali Yadav.
No Arrests Yet, Probe Continues
Senior Police Inspector Netaram Mhaske of Kongaon Police Station said, “Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was removing shuttering from the slab when he came into contact with a live wire passing nearby. So far, no arrests have been made. Further investigation is underway.”
