Thane: Fire broke out on Wednesday, August 16 at around 1:45 am in a shop in ground floor of ground plus four storey Manisha Apartment at Talavpalli in Thane (W). Goods, Sewing Machines and Cloth Reels worth lakhs of rupees were damaged in the fire. Fortunately, no casualty was reported.
Officials Share Details On Incident
Yasin Tadvi, regional disaster management cell (RDMC) chief, Thane said, "We received the information at the disaster management cell room at around 1:45 am on Wednesday, August 16 about the fire in a shop owned by Ramnik Mota in the ground floor of ground plus four storey Manisha Apartment near Rajwant jewellers at Talavpalli in Thane (West)."
"Soon after receiving the information the disaster management cell team along with the Naupada police personnel, fire brigade personnel, Mahavitaran electricity personnel reached the spot with two pick-up vehicles and one fire vehicle. The fire was fully extinguished in just half an hour and it was brought under control," he further said.
Building Declared Dangerous By TMC
Goods, cloth reels and sewing machines worth lakhs were destroyed in the fire. Manisha Apartment has been declared dangerous by the Thane Municipal Corporation and it has been said by local residents that no one is living in the said building.
