Thane: Around 50 passengers travelling in a Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) bus of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) had a narrow escape after the vehicle caught fire in Thane on Sunday, July 30 at around 8:30 am. The Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) chief of Thane Yasin Tadvi said that no one was injured in the incident.
Tadvi said, "The TMT bus was carrying around 50 passengers was on way from Narpoli to Chendani Koliwada when it caught fire at around 8:30 am near the Central Maidan." The bus driver and conductor immediately evacuated the passengers after noticing the fire.
"Soon after receiving the information at the disaster management cell room at around, 8:30 am about the fire in TMT bus at Central Maidan our disaster management cell team along with local firemen rushed to the spot after being alerted and put out the blaze within 15 minutes. The bus was partially damaged. Short-circuit was suspected to have caused the blaze" said Tadvi.
