Thane: Thane Municipal Corporation has launched a special campaign to cut off tap connections from illegal constructions or buildings in the Diva area of Thane. The civic officials said that during the campaign, they seized 10 pumps, 11 borewells was stopped and disconnected 11 illegal connections.
TMC Launches Special Drive Against Illegal Water Connections in Diva
A campaign was led by the water department of Thane Municipal Corporation and headed by Vinod Pawar, Suburban Engineer (Water Supply Department) of TMC.
The civic officials are checking their documents to see if the water supply has been provided to them. They disconnect the water supply if the construction is illegal. Similarly, the water supply would be disconnected if the water pipe is connected illegally to the municipal water supply line.
Commissioner Saurabh Rao Directs Strict Enforcement
An action was taken under the instruction of Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao. A special campaign was conducted in the Diva Ward to disconnect the pipe connections of unauthorized constructions.
During campaigns, the unauthorized partially constructions where occupied were inspected, and the pipe connection were disconnected. Pawar said that pumps were also seized and borewells were also closed in some places.
This action was taken in the areas of Shil-Mahape Road area, Dativali Road, Shanti Nagar, Munir Compound in the Diva Ward.
