Thane: The Kalyan police, in three separate cases of POCSO and sexual harassment, have filed chargesheets within 48 hours after the filing of the FIR. The three police stations, Manpada, Bazarpeth, and Kolsewadi, filed chargesheets before the court after collecting the evidence.
The Bazarpeth police booked a 27-year-old man for allegedly demanding sexual favors from his wife's sister in Kalyan. The police said that the incident took place in Kalyan on May 25 at 7:30 when the accused allegedly expressed a desire for sexual favors.
Upon hearing the word, a 24-year-old victim's was outraged and alerted her family members. Later, she, along with her family members, approached the police station and filed an FIR under sections 74, 75, 79, 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on May 25.
Investigating officer Amol Andhale, a police sub-inspector from Bazarpeth police station, told FPJ that the accused got married to his wife in 2017, but later they were separated for the past four years. He allegedly demanded sexual favors from his sister-in-law.
Later, an FIR was filed. We have recorded three witnesses, including an eyewitness, and conducted a spot panchnama, and filed a chargesheet in court within 48 hours. We summoned the accused to appear in court at the time of filing the chargesheet, and he was released on bail. The aim was to file the chargesheets as quickly as possible to conduct a trial on a fast track.
The Manpada police booked a 52-year-old man for allegedly intending to insult his 30-year-old niece's modesty after sending a WhatsApp message over petty issues on May 28.
The incident took place in Dombivli on May 28 when the victim received a message in the WhatsApp family group regarding her brother's marriage. The victim raised questions regarding why no one asked about her brother's marriage.
Afterward, upon seeing the message her uncle sent a bad massage, she was outraged by the insult to her modesty. She was shocked and outraged by the insult, alerted her family members, and approached the police station to file an FIR against him.
Investigating officer Eknath Phulbudhe, Assistant Police Inspector from Manpada police station, told FPJ that we recorded a total of two witnesses and conducted a spot panchnama. The Kolsewadi police arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing his 17-year-old daughter in Kalyan in May. The police stated that the father scolded her when he saw her frequently touching with her phone. He learned that she was having conversations with someone. After which, he allegedly sexually harassed her by inappropriately.
Subsequently, she approached the police station to file an FIR against her father. Based on the victim's complaints, an FIR has been filed under sections 75(1)(2), 352, 35(1)(2), and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as well as the relevant sections 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act on May 28.

Investigating officer Suresh Narvade from Kolsewadi police station told FPJ that the accused was arrested after receiving a complaint. We have recorded a total of two witnesses, including eye witness and the report from the medical officer, and later filed chargesheets before the court on May 30. The aim is to file chargesheets as quickly as possible to conduct the trial on a fast track.
