A 27-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death by a group of individuals over a petty issue aimed at creating terror in Thane on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Darshan Deepak Shinde (27), who lived with his family in the Khopat area of Thane. The accused have been identified as Aryan Gadiwal (20), Tushar Nirukhekar (24), Akash Shinde (28), and Bhal (20), all residents of the Chiranagar area in Thane. The incident occurred in Chirag Nagar at around 7:30 PM.
According to police sources, an FIR was filed by the complainant, Ketan Satam (20), who was sitting on a bench and conversing with the deceased at the time of the incident.
The four individuals approached them. Tushar and Aryan claimed they were maintaining their dominance in the area and told Darshan that they were the “Bhai” of the locality, sparking a heated argument involving abusive language. During the altercation, Tushar grabbed Darshan’s hands from behind while Aryan took out a sharp weapon and stabbed him in the chest.
As locals began to gather, Aryan brandished the weapon, threatened the public, and fled the scene. Bystanders rushed Darshan to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
An FIR has been registered under sections 103, 352, 351, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Upon receiving information about the murder, police rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. A team was formed, and two accused — Tushar Nirukhekar and Akash Shinde — were apprehended from the locality. They were produced in court and remanded to police custody for further investigation.
Prameshwar Gavhane, Police Sub-Inspector from Vartak Nagar Police Station, said, "We have launched a manhunt for the absconding accused."
