Dr. Shrikant Shinde, leader of the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) parliamentary party, launched a sharp attack on the Congress, stating that during the horrifying terrorist attacks that shook the nation, the Congress government merely engaged in rhetoric and completely failed to combat terrorism. He asserted that Shiv Sena would not compromise on national security and would not allow the failed policies of Congress to dominate the nation again.

Referring to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Dr. Shinde said, "Even today, the country has not fully recovered from the trauma of that incident. While such a massive attack had taken place, the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra from the Congress party was shamefully taking Bollywood celebrities on a ‘tour’ of the attack sites – a deeply embarrassing moment for the entire nation."

Dr.Shinde expresses anger over Congress' questions on Op Sindoor

Expressing anger over the questions raised by the Congress during the discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, he said, "Several terror attacks occurred during Congress rule, leading to the loss of many innocent lives. These were the result of Congress's failure. But today, the nation is in strong hands, and in the last 10 years, there hasn't been a single terrorist attack in Maharashtra."

While addressing the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Dr. Shinde questioned the Congress, saying, “Our government has delivered full justice to the victims of the Pahalgam attack. But when will the 127 victims of the 2006 train blasts get justice?” He added, “Our government responds to terrorists in their own language. In the Pahalgam attack, three innocent people from my constituency lost their lives, and their families kept asking when they would get justice. Today, they have received justice. But the accused in the 2006 train blasts get released even before being punished – those victims are still waiting for justice because of Congress’s failures.”

Dr. Shinde Asks Direct Questions to Congress

Dr. Shinde posed direct questions to the Congress:
“Why was the POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act), introduced by the BJP, repealed? After it was scrapped, several terrorist attacks took place. Who helped the accused in the Bhopal gas tragedy escape? Why did Congress have so much sympathy for Afzal Guru?”

He also recalled how Balasaheb Thackeray had directly told former President Pranab Mukherjee that Afzal Guru must be hanged – and eventually, he was.

He criticized the then Maharashtra Chief Minister for taking a film producer to the Taj Hotel during the 26/11 attacks to plan a movie. He also slammed the then State Home Minister for trivializing the tragedy by saying, “Small incidents keep happening in big cities,” while the Union Home Minister reportedly changed clothes three times during the crisis.

Shinde Targeted UBT Shiv Sena in Parliament

Dr. Shinde also cornered UBT (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Sena MP Arvind Sawant in Parliament, saying, “You’re asking when the 2006 victims will get justice – why not just ask your ally sitting beside you? You’ll get your answer.”

He further said, “1993 blast accused Iqbal Moosa campaigned for a Lok Sabha candidate – Arvind Sawant should also reveal who that candidate was.”
