PMC jurisdiction spans over 200 km including CIDCO, NAINA, Pushpak Nagar

"The jurisdiction of PMC spans over 100 kilometers, and when including CIDCO-developed nodes, surrounding villages, and urban expansions, the area exceeds 200 kilometers. With a rapidly growing population and the rise of major residential townships by developers like Indiabulls, Balaji Symphony, Hiranandani, Wadhwa, Marathon, and Godrej, the demand for a dedicated public transport system has grown considerably," informed an officer.

Moreover the officer explained that, significant urban growth has occurred in areas like NAINA (Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area). Villages from outside the Panvel taluka, such as Karjat, Khalapur, and Pen, have been integrated into these urban projects.

Pushpak Nagar, a major rehabilitation zone for those affected by the Navi Mumbai International Airport project, has also seen substantial development. These expansions have led to a persistent public demand for an independent and efficient transport system in Panvel.
