Panvel: As part of its ongoing green initiative, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out a tree plantation drive at Sector 2, Plot No. 15 in Khanda Colony on July 10. The event was organised by the Corporation's Garden Department in collaboration with St. Joseph School, New Panvel.
The initiative is being implemented with the dual aim of promoting environmental conservation and encouraging citizen participation. The drive also included free distribution of saplings to the public.
A total of 80 saplings, including varieties such as Bakul, Bahava (Cassia), Shisam (Indian rosewood), Mango, and Coconut, were planted in the garden area.
Assistant Commissioner Dr. Rupali Mane and Garden Department Head Anil Kokare oversaw the programme. Garden Supervisor Vishal Hudekar, along with Assistant Garden Supervisors Sumit Bodke and Mahesh Ghodsare, also contributed to the smooth execution of the event.

Students from St. Joseph School actively participated in the plantation, expressing enthusiasm and making a collective pledge to protect the environment.
