Palghar, Maharashtra: A fatal road accident occurred on Saturday near Mendhwan Ghat along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, claiming the lives of three individuals, including a woman. Two others, one of them a child, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
The accident took place when a Renault Duster, traveling from Gujarat towards Mumbai, was crushed between two trucks. The truck in front had stopped due to ongoing road work, as one lane was closed for painting, and a truck approaching from behind collided with the vehicle, leading to the tragic incident, as per reports.
The deceased have been identified as Clayton Valles, Fabiola Valles, and Gloria Valles. Clayton and Fabiola died on the spot, while Gloria passed away en route to the hospital.
Two other family members, Hoenen Valles and 9-year-old Rayden Valles, were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Both sustained severe injuries but are currently reported to be in stable condition. Rayden, just 9 years old, is the son of Clayton and Fabiola, and heartbreakingly lost both of his parents in the accident.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway. Local police and rescue teams reached the scene promptly after being alerted. They assisted in pulling the injured out of the wreckage and sent them to the hospital for urgent medical care.
