Palghar: A snake rescuer’s dangerous stunt has triggered widespread criticism and could soon land him in serious legal trouble. A video featuring the incident, involving a python and a young child, has gone viral on social media, drawing sharp condemnation from animal welfare groups and concerned citizens.
About The Incident
A shocking video posted by Sagar Patel a few months ago on Instagram has recently gone viral across social media platforms. The clip shows Patel handing over the tail of a python to a child, believed to be around three to four years old, while he himself is seen handling the snake. The footage, originally posted on Instagram, was reportedly shared as a stunt to gain attention online. However, anticipating legal repercussions, Patel later deleted the video from his account.

However, the damage was already done. Several users had already screen-recorded the video, and it continued to circulate widely, particularly among groups that thrive on sensational wildlife stunt content. The viral nature of the video caught the attention of wildlife enthusiasts and social activists, sparking a demand for action against such dangerous behavior.
"Exploiting wild animals for social media fame is unacceptable, especially when it puts both human and animal lives at risk. Involving a young child in such a dangerous stunt is beyond irresponsible," said Vaishali Chavan of People for Animal Welfare.

The Forest Department in Dahanu is now under scrutiny, as all eyes are on the action it will take in response to the incident. This is not the first time such wildlife stunt videos have surfaced on social media purely for fame, but the involvement of a toddler has elevated the seriousness of the matter. Whether this leads to concrete legal steps against Patel remains to be seen.
