Navi Mumbai Police Inspector Subhash Pujari has won two gold medals at the prestigious World Police and Fire Games 2025, held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. Competing against athletes from 76 countries, Pujari clinched gold in both Bodybuilding (172 cm height category) and Men’s Physique, raising India’s tricolor high on the global stage and bringing recognition to the Maharashtra Police Force.
Joining Pujari in the medal tally was Randeep Datta, a retired Assistant Director General of Police (ADGP) with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who secured a bronze medal in the Tennis Doubles category at the same event. Datta had previously served in Mumbai as the Inspector General of CRPF’s Western Sector, before being promoted to the ADGP rank in Delhi, where he eventually retired from service. His podium finish at an international sports arena highlights the enduring fitness and sporting spirit of India’s police veterans.
Speaking about his fitness journey, Inspector Pujari said, “It was in the year 1995 after my class XII that I started hitting the gym. It then became an addiction to me and working out at the gym had become a routine for me. Since then I never missed working out.”

Pujari, who joined the police force as a constable in 2003, eventually rose through the ranks and became the captain of the Maharashtra Police bodybuilding team. During the pandemic, when gyms were closed, he set up his own gym at his residence in Khanda Colony by purchasing fitness equipment to continue his training without interruption.
To prepare for the World Police and Fire Games, Pujari followed a rigorous six-hour daily workout routine under the guidance of Olympia Sunit Jadhav. His perseverance and dedication translated into gold on the international stage, adding to his collection of 10 international medals.
Pujari credited his success to the strong support system around him. He received encouragement and assistance from Milind Bharambe, Police Commissioner, Navi Mumbai; Shrikant Pathak, Additional Commissioner of Police, Thane City; and Preeti Tipre, Superintendent of Police, Dial 112, Navi Mumbai. His wife, Ragini Pujari, stood by him through every step of his preparation. Others who supported his journey include Anand Gupta and Vivek Gupta, directors of Gampro Drilling Company, Khalapur; Dr. Kanishk Jain and Dr. Aseem Mathan from Rhinomite Clinic, Andheri; and well-wishers Sudarshan Khedkar and Rishi Penkar.
Top officials across the police force and administrative circles lauded both Pujari’s and Datta’s achievements. Rashmi Shukla, Director General of Police, Maharashtra; Nikhil Gupta, Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order); Krishna Prakash, Additional Director General of Police (Administration); and Abhishek Trimukhe, Special Inspector General of Police (Administration), were among those who extended warm congratulations.
