Navi Mumbai: A major fire broke out at Shushrusha Hospital in Nerul on Monday. The hospital is located at Plot No. 22/A, Phase III, Palm Beach Road, Sector 6 of Nerul West in Navi Mumbai.
A huge crowd was seen gathered outside the hospital. In the video, broken glass can be seen on the building, suggesting possible damage or unrest. The situation quickly became chaotic and panic-stricken, raising serious concerns among the public.
In the video footage, patients can be seen being safely evacuated from the hospital. The fire brigade promptly reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
As per the initial report, the fire started in the X-ray room. OPD patients were immediately evacuated. 21 patients in the ICU were shifted to NMMC hospital.
Massive Fire Erupts At Bata Showroom In Chembur; No Injuries Reported
In a separate news story related to the fire in Chembur, a level-1 fire broke out early Monday morning at a Bata showroom, causing damage to electrical wiring, installations, shoe stock, and the false ceiling. The incident was first reported to the Control Room at 4:35 am, with an update issued at 8:35 am.
The fire affected approximately 2,000 sq ft of area on the ground floor and part of the basement within a commercial building located at Shiv Ashish CHS, near Malhar Hotel. The building comprises a basement, ground floor, and seven upper floors.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade responded swiftly, deploying multiple units to bring the situation under control. They were supported by personnel from the local police, BMC ward staff, the 108 ambulance service, the Public Works Department (PWD), and Adani Electricity. The fire was successfully doused and declared extinguished by 7:50 am. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains unconfirmed, and further information is awaited. The affected premises have been identified as the Bata Showroom located at Shiv Ashish CHS, Road No. 19, Plot No. 10, Chembur.
