Navi Mumbai: A massive fire broke out at the factory of Shubhada Polymers Company in Shiravane MIDC in Navi Mumbai's Nerul. The blaze erupted in the late night hours, at around 11pm on Friday night.

A total of 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately after the blaze was reported. Fire brigade officials were actively working to control the blaze. As per initial reports, no casualties have been reported.

Visuals of the fire incident show massive flames and thick clouds of black smoke billowing from the factory. Fire fighting officials can be seen engaged in the dousing operations.

Massive Fire Recently Reported In Mumbai's Andheri

In a similar incident reported recently, a massive fire broke out at the New Industrial Estate in Andheri East on Thursday afternoon, leading to a six-hour-long firefighting operation by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB). The blaze, which erupted around 1:45 pm in a 500x1000 square foot area on Mahakali Caves Road, was eventually brought under control by 7:32 pm. Four firemen sustained injuries during the operation and were treated at the civic-run Trauma Care Hospital before being discharged.

The fire primarily affected electric wiring, installations, plastic items, furniture, plastic sheets, and raw materials spread across the ground floor, first floor, and terrace of a partly ground-floor and partly ground-plus-one-floor building. Due to its rapid spread, MFB declared it a Level 3 – major fire at 3:07 pm.

4 Firefighting Personnel Injured

The firefighting effort involved 10 fire engines, 2 master water tenders, 8 jumbo tankers, 1 additional water tanker, 2 ambulances and 8 hose lines (7 small and 1 large). A senior fire official stated that the area was immediately evacuated upon detecting the fire. However, a wall collapse at the site injured four fire personnel, identified as Devendra Chotelal Yadav (30), Tushar Umaji Harad (25), Prakash Laxman Ingole (30) and Sandhya Sanjay Farade (34).

Fire officials confirmed that the situation was brought under control from all sides by 7:32 pm, though the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
