Mumbai Weather Update: Coastal Winds Keep Temperature Below 35°C, Relief From Extreme Heat For Now

As per IMD Mumbai 's district weather forecast for next five days issued on April 13, Mumbai and it's metropolitan regions will witness dry weather.

The state experienced a phenomenon last week, where the interiors were reeling under extreme heat with 40°C and above temperature, while Mumbai recorded maximum temperature around 33-34 °C. The difference is attributed to the cyclonic winds the coastal region is witnessing. However, after brief relief from the extreme humidity, the mercury in Mumbai is predicted to rise slightly for the next couple of days, before gradually falling again. 

"Mumbai will is expected to see clearly skies with temperature slightly above 36°C for the next two days. However, later in the week, the mercury will be below 35°C only. The wife diffrence in the weather conditions in Mumbai and the interiors due to changes in winds pattern. The temperature in the interiors were normal as per summer, but comparatively lower in Mumbai due to westerly winds,' said IMD Mumbai officer Sushma Nair.

Thanks to the early setting westerly winds, Mumbai is not witnessing above normal temperature from last week. IMD weather Outlook for April had forecasted above normal temperatures for Mumbai.

As per IMD Mumbai 's district weather forecast for next five days issued on April 13, Mumbai and it's metropolitan regions will witness dry weather. While, the districts of Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur, Nanded, Latur, Dharashiv and the Vidharbha regions are given Yellow Alert for thunderstorms with rains. 

Parts of Maharashtra have been witnessing unseasonal rains from two weeks as the region is entering the peak of summer season.
