Mumbai Weather Update: City Braces Overcast Skies And Moderate Rains Anticipated Today

The IMD forecasts overcast skies and moderate rain in Mumbai, with strong winds expected. Temperatures ranged from 25.8°C to 31°C. Recent rainfall increased reservoir levels, now at 75.79%, totalling 1,096,952 million litres.

Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts overcast skies and occasional moderate rain in Mumbai and its surrounding areas for the entire day. Strong winds are also anticipated in certain areas of the city. The Santacruz observatory reported a peak temperature of 30.8°C and a low of 25.8°C, whereas Colaba recorded a high of 31°C and a minimum of 24.6°C.

In the last 24 hours, Mumbai experienced 11.92 mm of rain, while the eastern suburbs registered 22.64 mm and the western suburbs 15.84 mm. As a result, the water levels in lakes that provide the city with drinking water have increased. The latest data reveals that the total stock in the seven reservoirs is at 75.79%, amounting to 10,96,952 million liters.

Rain is anticipated to persist throughout the week, easing up as the weekend approaches, reflecting standard Mumbai monsoon trends. Temperatures will range from 27.1°C to 28.9°C, accompanied by high humidity and an AQI suggesting a change in the seasonal climate. The next few days will see scattered rain, with temperatures reaching 30°C on July 16 and 17, and lighter rain expected later in the week.

Tide levels Today

High tide is expected at 4:27 AM (4.47 meters) and again at 2:28 AM on July 15 (3.88 meters). The low tide will happen at 8:33 PM (1.45 meters), while the following low is anticipated at 8:07 AM on July 15 (0.97 meters).

Mumbai AQI Today

According to the latest update by CPCB's Sameer app, the AQI level falls at 42 which indicates the air quality is 'good' today. Due to constant rains and high precipitation volume at 75%, the air quality has immensely improved compared to the earlier months this year.
