Mumbai: In a disturbing case of assault, Mumbai Police have launched a search for three individuals accused of raping a mentally challenged 18-year-old girl, who is now eight months pregnant.
Case Registered Under IPC and POCSO Act
The case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim's mother, leading to an active investigation under sections of the Indian Penal Code for rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Victim Lured During Hospital Visit, Raped in Slum House
According to the police, the horrific incident reportedly occurred in December of last year. The victim, a resident of Mumbai's eastern suburbs, had gone to a hospital for treatment for a skin condition. It was during this time that the three accused allegedly lured her to a house in a nearby slum and sexually assaulted her.
Mother Files Complaint After Pregnancy Discovered
The crime remained undiscovered for several months until the family realized the victim was pregnant. Following this shocking discovery, she was admitted to a hospital, and her mother immediately approached the police to file a complaint.

Police Identify Two Accused, Search On for Third
While the search for the accused is ongoing, police have identified two of the suspects and have a description of the third, who is believed to be their friend.
