Mumbai: Mumbai's Malad Police have busted a sex racket operating under the guise of a spa in suburban Mumbai. Acting on a tip-off, officers deployed a decoy customer to confirm illegal activity. Once verified, the police team conducted a raid and rescued four women from the premises. Two individuals were arrested in the operation.

According to officials, the spa appeared to be a legitimate wellness centre but was discreetly offering sexual services to clients. The rescued women have been sent to a shelter home for rehabilitation and counselling. Police have launched a deeper investigation to trace others connected to the racket, including possible agents and financiers.

Sex Racket Busted In Dahisar Hotel

In a separate case, on July 31, Mumbai Crime Branch’s Unit 12 raided a hotel in Dahisar and exposed another sex trafficking operation. Based on a credible tip, officers arrested two women who were allegedly acting as pimps.

During the raid, three women, including a minor, were found and rescued. They have been placed under protective custody at a shelter home. Police have registered a case and are tracking the network responsible for bringing the victims into the trade.

High-Profile Sex Racket Busted At Andheri Hotel; 3 Vietnamese Women Rescued

Meanwhile, MIDC Police uncovered another high-profile prostitution racket on July 24, involving foreign nationals in Andheri. The operation was running from Empire Suite Hotel, near Times Square on Andheri-Kurla Road.

Acting on specific intelligence, police sent a decoy customer who was greeted by hotel manager Alam Khalil Chaudhary. The manager allegedly offered sex services for Rs 6,000 and led the decoy to a room on the eighth floor, where a Vietnamese woman was waiting.

Upon receiving a signal from the decoy, police raided the 8th and 9th floors of the hotel and rescued three Vietnamese women. Interrogation revealed that the women were forced into prostitution and that their clients were arranged through an agent who shared their photographs online. Further investigation pointed to the alleged involvement of hotel owner Abdul Salam, who, along with the manager, coordinated the trafficking activities.

Both Chaudhary and Salam have been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA). Police believe a larger network is at play and further arrests are likely as investigations continue.
