Mumbai: In a move aimed at strengthening citizen-centric governance, the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board of MHADA (Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority) held its first Janata Darbar Din on Tuesday, successfully addressing 54 public complaints.

Organized under the state government’s 100-Day Action Plan, the Janata Darbar took place at Bharatratna Gulzarilal Nanda Hall, MHADA Headquarters in Bandra (East), and was led by Milind Shambharkar, Chief Officer of the Board. The forum provided a platform for citizens to raise long-pending issues.

The 100-Day Action Plan, rolled out under the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister and Housing Minister Eknath Shinde, emphasizes efficient and timely public service delivery. MHADA’s Vice President and CEO, Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, has directed all regional boards to organize *Janata Darbar Dins* as part of this initiative.

During the session, citizens voiced concerns over delayed allotment of rehabilitation units to transit camp residents, non-receipt of units post redevelopment of cess properties, hold-ups in occupancy certificates affecting possession, and the need for document verification for tenants in redeveloped buildings.

The Chief Officer personally reviewed each complaint and assured prompt and fair action, reiterating MHADA’s focus on responsive and transparent governance.
