E. Srinivas, a distinguished officer of the 1994 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE), has recently taken charge as the Commissioner of Railway Safety, Western Circle, Mumbai.
Srinivas brings with him nearly three decades of rich and diverse experience in the Indian Railways. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi. He has also completed the prestigious Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD, Singapore, and ICLIF, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Srinivas began his illustrious career as an Assistant Signal and Telecom Engineer in Secunderabad under the South Central Railway. Over the years, he has served in various vital roles across different Zonal Railways.
His notable assignments include his tenure as Deputy Commissioner of Railway Safety (Technical) in the Southern Circle, Bengaluru, where he played a pivotal role in the safety certification of signalling systems across Southern Railway, South Western Railway, and metro rail systems in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kochi.
Prior to assuming his current assignment, Srinivas was on Central Deputation as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.
E. Srinivas is highly respected among peers and subordinates for his professionalism, leadership, and commitment to safety in railway operations.
