Mumbai: A BEST bus operating on route number 116 was involved in a minor accident on Friday evening near Swami Dayanand Saraswati Chowk, when it collided with a road divider around 8:25 pm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Bus on Route 116 Crashes While Avoiding Two-Wheeler
The bus, which was on its way from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to the Gateway of India, was not carrying any passengers at the time. According to initial reports, a two-wheeler rider suddenly veered into the bus’s path, prompting the driver to brake sharply to avoid a collision. The abrupt maneuver caused the bus to skid and strike the road divider on the right side of the road.
Front Bumper, Windshield Damaged in Impact
"The impact damaged the front bumper, shattered the windshield, and broke the mudguard of the bus. The motorcyclist involved in the incident fled the scene immediately and has not yet been identified" said an official of BEST.

Two-Wheeler Rider Fled; Complaint Filed at Local Police Station
Authorities have registered an official complaint against the unidentified two wheeler rider at the Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Police Station, based on the bus driver’s statement, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
