Mumbai: A 72-year-old woman died by suicide after suffering from illness on Tuesday afternoon. The woman, identified as Merlin Menon, was living alone in the Dahisar area of Mumbai. She took her life by jumping from the seventh floor of a building.

Merlin had been residing in the new heritage building for the last six months after the death of her husband. According to the police, she left a suicide note stating that she was ending her life due to her illness, as she had been mentally disturbed.

The MHB police station stated that her body was found lying in a pool of blood by a watchman of the building. The watchman immediately alerted the police, and the police registered an accidental death case. According to reports, she had been mentally ill and had also left a suicide note behind. The further investigation is underway by the police.

Woman Dies By Suicide After Torture By Husband's Paramour In Pune

A 34-year-old woman died by suicide by hanging herself at her home in Pune's Ambegaon area. The incident happened after being harassed by her husband's paramour. The officials mentioned that the incident happened on Tuesday, May 10. The individuals accused in the case have been identified as Vikas Kokane (36) and Archana Ahire.

According to the police, a case of abetment to suicide has been registered against the husband and his paramour at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station. The woman who died by suicide has been identified as Madhuri Kokane (34), a resident of Ashtavinayaknagar, Ambegaon Pathar. Following the incident, her husband was arrested after her brother, Ashish Alhat (22), a resident of Dharashiv, filed a complaint.

Several cases have been registered by Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station under Sections 108, 351(2)(3), and 3(5) of the BNS Act. And the further investigation of the case is underway.
