In a heart-wrenching incident, a 70-year-old auto-driver from Dombivli committed suicide after a car driver asked for compensation of Rs 2 lakh after he bashed into his car.
Munjaji Shelke, a resident of Mothagaon, hung himself to death at his residence.
While driving his auto, Shelke happened to hit a car. The owner of the car beat Shelke and tortured him till 3 AM, after which he was asked to go home. The driver had demanded compensation for Rs 2 lakh from Shelke, which left him distressed.
Unable to meet the car driver's demand, Shelke took this extreme step and died by suicide.
Exasperated by this incident, Shelke's relatives began a sit-in protest outside the Vishnu Nagar police station. The cops are vigorously investigating the matter.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old crane driver hanged himself to death in Bhopal after an argument with his father on Saturday.
He left a suicide note in which he mentioned being beaten regularly by his three brothers and two sisters-in-law, saying their harassment drove him to end his life.
According to information, Mohammad Musharraf Khan, died by suicide in Bhopal's Bismillah Colony, located in the Aishbagh area.
According to SI Pradeep Gurjar, Musharraf lived with his family, which includes four brothers and five sisters. He was the youngest among the brothers.
On Saturday night, he was found hanging in his room. The police found a diary in the room, which contained a note written by Musharraf.
In the note, he mentioned the names of his three brothers and two sisters-in-law and wrote that he was ending his life due to their constant harassment. He also stated that he was beaten regularly and could no longer take it.
Police have said that a handwriting test will be conducted to confirm that the note was written by Musharraf. Detailed statements from the family members will also be recorded as part of the investigation.
However, his brother Mohammad Bilal shared a different version. He said that their father was addicted to alcohol, and Musharraf often opposed his drinking habit. On the day of the suicide, Musharraf had an argument with his father, after which he took the extreme step.
Police handed over the body to the family after postmortem on Sunday and are currently investigating the case from all possible angles.
