Passenger services to Acharya Atre Chowk station on the Mumbai Metro's Aqua Line also known as Metro Line 3 resumed Saturday May 31st at 1 PM, following a brief suspension caused by flooding earlier this week. Metro services between AareyJVLR and Acharya Atre Chowk will now operate as per the regular schedule.

Monday to Saturday: 6:30 AM – 10:30 PM and on Sunday: 8:30 AM – 10:30 PM

The disruption was triggered on Monday after intense rainfall in Mumbai led to water seepage at the under-construction entry point of the Acharya Atre Chowk Aqualine Station.

In an official statement, Ashwini Bhide,Managing Director of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), addressed the issue, explaining that the flooding was due to seepage through a temporary access shaft that is still undergoing finishing work. “The incident was localized and contained promptly. Emergency teams were activated immediately, and drainage systems were reinforced to prevent recurrence,” said Bhide.

MMRC confirmed that thorough inspections and preventive measures have since been implemented to ensure commuter safety. Services resumed after a comprehensive safety clearance was given earlier on Saturday.

Commuters can now travel without disruption, and MMRC continues to monitor weather conditions and infrastructure integrity to mitigate the impact of monsoon-related challenges. The MMRC previously launched BKC to Aarey JVLR later the stretch extended further upto Acharya Aatre Chowk, in Worli comprising 22km distance.
