Mumbai: The Malvani police registered an FIR against a woman for allegedly criticising 'Operation Sindoor'. The FIR was registered on May 10, and a notice was issued to her. The accused has been identified as Salma Raffiq Khan, 40.
According to the FIR, Khan resides at Room 3, OCC, Malvani-Malad, and operates a beauty parlour in Malvani. Two days ago, she posted content related to 'Operation Sindoor' on her Facebook account.
The post read: "Peace over head... When governments make reckless decisions, it's the innocent on both sides who pay the price — not the ones in power." The post also included an obscene word about 'Operation Sindoor'.
After receiving this information, the police filed an FIR against her under Section 353 (Statements conducing to public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. A police officer stated, “We have issued a notice to her. There are no prior cases registered against her."
Meanwhile, the Juhu police have yet to trace a woman and her associates for allegedly gathering unlawfully at Vile Parle railway station, and verbally abusing, physically assaulting individuals who opposed the removal of Pakistani flags near the west side of Vile Parle railway station.
In this matter, the Juhu police registered an FIR on May 7 against six unidentified individuals, including a burqa-clad woman, for unlawful assembly, verbal abuse, and physical assault.
A few days earlier, some unidentified individuals had pasted Pakistani flags in front of the ticket counter at the station as a symbolic protest against the recent terrorist attacks on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The flags bore the message: "Step on it." Those responsible left shortly after.

Later, the veiled woman and her group arrived at the Vile Parle railway station and began removing the flags, causing a disturbance for commuters. When some people tried to intervene, the woman and her associates allegedly assaulted and verbally abused them, leading to a brief period of tension at the station.
