Mumbai: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police has seized narcotic substances worth ₹5.80 crore in a major crackdown conducted across Powai, Oshiwara, and Dadar. The seized drugs include mephedrone (MD) and hydroponic cannabis, with three drug peddlers arrested during the operations.

According to officials, the first raid was conducted by the Azad Maidan Unit on May 5 during a routine patrol along Saki Vihar Road in Powai. A suspect was intercepted and found in possession of 108 grams of mephedrone, valued at approximately ₹21.60 lakh. He was allegedly planning to sell the drugs in the local market.

The second operation was carried out by the Ghatkopar Unit near Lokhandwala Back Road in Oshiwara. Based on suspicion, a youth was stopped and subsequently found carrying 2.040 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis, valued at around ₹2.04 crore.

In the third case, the Worli Unit nabbed a man from Dadar who was also in possession of a large quantity of hydroponic cannabis. A total of ₹3.55 crore worth of the drug was recovered from him.

Investigations revealed that the arrested peddlers were distributing hydroponic cannabis in both Lokhandwala and Dadar areas. The ANC has intensified efforts to trace the supply network and further investigation is underway.
