Palghar, Maharashtra: A man was arrested for the alleged rape of three minor girls, including two sisters, over several months in Virar East.

According to a report filed with the Virar police station, a 13-year-old girl came forward on Sunday, accusing a neighbor of repeated sexual assault. The girl revealed that the man had first assaulted her on the night of January 1, 2024, and continued to abuse her, her 14-year-old sister, and a 17-year-old neighbor.

The victims allege that the accused used threats to coerce them into silence, allowing the abuse to continue for an extended period. The girls eventually found the courage to report the crimes, leading to the man's arrest.

The Virar police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of rape and violations of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the disturbing allegations.
