Mumbai: Four members of a family, including three children, lost their lives in a fatal road accident on Saturday afternoon in Govandi. The horrific incident, occurred on the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road near Lotus Junction around 3:45 PM, when a scooty (Burgman), carrying the four individuals was struck by a speeding dumper, led to angry protests and a road blockade by locals, causing significant traffic congestion and tension. Police were forced to use a lathi-charge to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as Noor Mohammad Ghulam Nabi Khan,29, and his nephews Mohammad Hussain Ghulam Ahmed Khan,13, Abdul Ghulam Ahmed Khan,12, and Mohammad Ayan Ghulam Mustafa Khan,7. All residents of Millat Nagar, Andheri-Ghatkopar Link Road, Sakinaka, Mumbai, who had come to Deonar to purchase goats, when the high-speed dumper collided with their two-wheeler, resulting in their instantaneous deaths.
Following the accident, locals expressing their anger by damaging the dumper and blocked the road. Police acted swiftly to apprehend the dumper driver, who was taken to the local Deonar police station. Subsequently, agitated crowd gathered outside the police station, in protest.

The police rushed Noor and Aryan to Shatabdi Hospital, while Hussain and Abdul were taken to Rajawadi Hospital, where all four were declared dead before admission.
Police have confirmed that the dumper driver remains in custody, and the process of filing a case is underway.
