Mumbai: A 59-year-old security guard has been arrested for molesting minor girls in Kandivali. The complaint was filed by a 30-year-old woman residing in the area. She reported that her friend, who also lives in Kandivali, has a five-year-old daughter. On May 25, while the girl was playing near her home, the security guard allegedly approached her and touched her inappropriately.

Just days later, on May 29, the complainant’s own five-year-old daughter was playing in the same spot with her friend when the accused allegedly repeated the act, as reported by Lokmat Times. The mother came to know about both incidents only recently, after the girls informed them. She immediately reported the matter to the Samta Nagar Police.

Police arrested the accused late on Thursday night. He remains in custody, and an investigation is underway. Authorities are also checking if he has been involved in similar offences with other children in the area, according to report. The case has triggered outrage among residents, who are calling for strict action.

In a separate story from Kandivali, a father and daughter from Kandivali have become the latest victims of cyber fraud after being lured by a misleading advertisement on YouTube that falsely promised to double their investment. The duo ended up losing Rs 9 lakh in the scam. The Kandivali Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.

The incident occurred on March 20, 2025, when 57-year-old Vinod Mehta came across an advertisement on YouTube for a company called BlinkX-Pro. According to a report by Loksatta, the ad claimed that participants could double their investment by enrolling in the company's schemes.
