A 54-year-old man has been arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) for allegedly recording an obscene video of a woman commuter at Andheri railway station and making lewd remarks at her, police said.
The accused, identified as vegetable vendor Nasir Chaudhary, was taken into custody following the incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening.
Incident at Rush Hour
The 30-year-old victim was waiting on the platform at around 6:30 pm when Chaudhary allegedly began filming her. He reportedly stopped recording when a Churchgate-bound train arrived.
A fellow commuter spotted him using his phone and confronted him but the accused allegedly brushed him off. Once on board the train, the bystander informed the woman about what had happened.

Confrontation and Arrest
The woman demanded that the accused deleted the footage, leading to an altercation during which he allegedly made obscene remarks.
When the train stopped at Bandra, the woman, assisted by other passengers, escorted him to the Bandra GRP station. Police checked his phone and found the objectionable video.
Case Registered and Investigation Underway
A case has been registered under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. The matter has been transferred to the Andheri GRP, as the incident occurred in their jurisdiction.
The accused was produced before a magistrate and remanded to one day in police custody. His mobile phone has been seized and will be sent for forensic examination to determine whether he had recorded other women.
