Palghar, Maharashtra: A 17-year-old girl has come forward with a deeply disturbing account of being tricked into marriage and subjected to repeated sexual assault over several months, with the alleged perpetrator being a 25-year-old man from Khed, Ratnagiri.
According to the FIR filed at Virar Police Station, the alleged incidents occurred between September 6, 2024, and February 2025, spanning locations in Virar and the accused's hometown.
The survivor states that the accused lured her from Virar with promises of marriage, and on September 9, 2024, they exchanged garlands at a temple near the Khed ST bus stand in what she describes as an informal marriage ceremony.
The girl alleges that the accused then took her to his home and established a physical relationship with her. When she began experiencing abdominal pain, she was taken to Mamta Hospital in Khed. A sonography revealed that she was two months pregnant, prompting her to file a police complaint.

The police have registered the case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, Sections 137(2), 64(2)(d), and 64(2)(m), along with Sections 9 and 10 of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.
The complaint was initially recorded at Khed Police Station and later transferred online to Virar Police Station. The accused has not yet been arrested.
