Mumbai: In a major move to ensure transparent, efficient, and timely delivery of services, the Maharashtra Government has notified a total of 94 services under the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, 2015, which are provided through various regional offices of the Labour Department, informed State Labour Minister Adv. Aakash Fundkar.
This decision is expected to significantly improve the speed and quality of services delivered to citizens across the state, making local administration more responsive and accountable. The services fall under key labour-related bodies including the Office of the Labour Commissioner, Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Steam Boilers Directorate, Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board, and the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The notification was issued following the directions of the Chief Commissioner of the Maharashtra State Commission for Right to Services during a recent official meeting, the minister added.
One of the major aspects of the decision is that it overrides previous government resolutions related to these services. Heads of each regional office have been empowered to determine the applicable service fees. Furthermore, all offices have been instructed to clearly display information regarding the notified services, designated time limits, application formats, fees, and responsible officers on public notice boards, official websites, and portals.

The stipulated timelines for each service must be followed excluding government holidays, and immediate implementation of these services by regional offices is mandatory.
“This move paves the way for citizens to receive their rightful services in a time-bound and systematic manner,” said Minister Fundkar. He expressed confidence that this step would elevate the overall standard of public service delivery in Maharashtra.
