Amravati: A shocking incident has come to light from Maharashtra's Amravati district. Angry with frequent power cuts and despite repeated complaints, when no response was received from the officials, two unknown youths entered the power substation, sprinkled petrol on the table, set it on fire and also tried to assault the operator on duty on Saturday.
The incident took place in Revasa village, where the power supply was completely disrupted since Friday night. Despite repeated complaints, neither the junior engineer nor did the executive engineer was reachable as their phones were switched off. After this, the angry villagers reached the sub-centre, but no concrete information was given there either.
Two youths from the village got angry and poured petrol on the table inside the office and set it on fire. They also tried to attack the operator on duty; however, he somehow managed to get away. The office furniture and important documents were burnt in the fire.
A video of this entire incident has also surfaced, in which the youth are seen pouring petrol on the table and then setting it on fire.
Police Action
Valgaon police has taken cognisance of the incident and have started an investigation by registering a case against unknown youths. Police is scanning the CCTV footage of the surrounding area and have said that soon the accused will be identified and taken into custody.
