Mumbai: The Maharashtra government to seeon launch an online portal for parents to track information about pre-primary schools within vicinity through an official unified platform. Soon, parents in Maharashtra will be able to find information about all pre-primary schools near them via a consolidated official platform. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the portal on Tuesday.

This platform will provide links to websites and enrollment statistics, as well as information about facilities, including the quantity of restrooms and the teaching staff available at these pre-schools. In a groundbreaking effort to unify pre-school information, the state government has introduced a registration portal.

With the rollout of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the central government has extended its focus to include children aged 3-6 years. The state is currently working towards implementing this policy gradually. Although the women and child development department possesses data on anganwadis, there is limited regulation of private organizations that offer pre-primary education.

Consequently, the state has developed this portal to gather information on all private centers that provide pre-primary education, stated School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse.

The online registration forms also ask pre-schools to provide details about their enrollment of children with special needs, the availability of CCTV cameras, and the presence of playgrounds or water tanks. In a section for educators, schools must share information regarding their qualifications. This information will aid the government in creating a policy for pre-primary education in the near future.
