Three individuals, including the driver of a luxury car, had a narrow escape after the vehicle caught fire while driving on Ghodbunder Road in Thane early Saturday morning. No injuries or casualties were reported.
About The Incident
The incident occurred near the Kasarvadavali signal in Thane West as the car was heading towards Thane from Ghodbunder.
Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation, said, “We received the information at around 12:06 PM and dispatched one fire engine, one rescue vehicle, and a pickup to the spot. All three occupants managed to escape unhurt after the fire broke out. The flames were extinguished, and a cooling operation followed.”


The fire led to heavy traffic congestion in the area. Local police and traffic personnel quickly reached the scene to manage the situation. According to an RDMC official, with the help of the fire department and RDMC teams, the fire was reportedly controlled, and normal traffic movement was restored by around 1:00 AM.
