A headless body aged between 25 and 28 years, identified as male, was found in Ambernath on Thursday morning. The police said that the head was missing and that it had been brutally cut from the body. The identification of the body has not yet been made. The headless body was found in Nalambi village near some bushes in Ambernath on Thursday at 8 AM.
The police stated that locals were out walking in the morning and discovered the male headless body. They were frightened after finding that the head had been brutally severed from the body. They promptly alerted the police.
The Kalyan Taluka Police rushed to the scene, called an ambulance, and summoned a forensic team to collect evidence from the site. The deceased was sent to Rukhmani Bai Hospital in Kalyan for a post-mortem examination.

Thane Rural Superintendent DS Swami also visited the spot. Four team including two local crime branch was formed to find the missing head and is working on the identification of the deceased.
Suresh Kadam, senior police inspector from Kalyan Taluka police, said, "The forensic team has collected blood, mixed soil, and other evidence and will later send it to the forensic laboratory. We called in a drone expert to search for the head of the deceased in the bushes for long hours but could not trace it. We called in dog squads to help find the head but failed to find head. Our team is reviewing the CCTV footage installed near the hotel and resort to identify the accused who killed him. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing. So far, the head could not be traced by evening. An FIR has been filed against the unknown person under the charge of murder."
