Thane: A shocking incident has come forward from the Thane district where reportedly a passenger faced theft and ran to the CRPF officer nearby to report the incident who then refused to register it stating, "humare paas aaneka nahi, tumhara complaint bahar dekho" (dont come to us, register the complaint outside).
The theft occurred at Thane railway station, involving a businessman from Vikhroli who arrived there approximately at 1:30 am on August 8. As he was walking across the pedestrian bridge to Mumbai, two children approached him for money, and then a group tried to snatch his mobile phone.

In panic, he ran to platform three, where two young men started to intimidate him. He fled to platform six and boarded the Konark Express train to Mumbai, notifying the police about the incident.
Upon reaching Dadar railway station, he requested help from Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff on platform number 12 but was told to submit a complaint outside, according to a report by Loksatta.
After this, he left the station and informed the Dadar Lohmarg Police Station about the robbery. His grievance resulted in a case being filed at Dadar Railway Police Station under different sections of the Indian Penal Code, and later, the case was moved to Thane Railway Police Station because of the incident's site.
The complainant voiced worry that if a resident of Mumbai like himself encountered such an issue, it could just as easily affect other unsuspecting travelers from various districts.
