Mumbai: The ‘Gauravshali Maharashtra Darshan’ photo exhibition, which portrays the pride and legacy of Maharashtra, was inaugurated on Monday at Mantralaya by the Minister for Information and Technology, Ashish Shelar.

The exhibition beautifully presents the rich and inspiring journey of Maharashtra—from great historical figures who continue to inspire, to saints who have shown the path of spiritual living. It also highlights visionary leaders and chief ministers who have led Maharashtra’s development after its formation. Minister Ashish Shelar expressed hope that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) would take the exhibition on a statewide tour, so that the people of Maharashtra can experience this legacy.

He also praised MP Sunil Tatkare and his team for curating the exhibition at the ministry with great research and dedication.

Also present on the occasion were NCP State President and MP Sunil Tatkare, Skill Development Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, NCP Chief Spokesperson Anand Paranjpe, State Spokesperson Sanjay Tatkare, Mumbai Working President Siddharth Kamble, Youth State President Suraj Chavan, Joint Treasurer Sanjay Borge, State General Secretary Latif Tamboli, and many other leaders and party workers.

On the occasion of the 65th foundation year of Maharashtra, the NCP organised the Glorious Maharashtra Festival–2025 from May 1 to 4 at the historic Jamboree Ground. The festival showcased five grand exhibition halls highlighting Maharashtra’s proud traditions: Maharashtra’s philosophy, Maharashtra Dharma, Garja Maharashtra, Maharashtra Ratna, and the contributions of all Chief Ministers till date. During his visit to the exhibition, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis suggested that a similar exhibit be organised at Mantralaya, which led to the current event.

For the next three days, the exhibition will be open to ministers, officials, and the public at Mantralaya, presenting the story of Maharashtra’s glorious legacy and the history of the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement.

The exhibition includes information on Maharashtra’s ideology, the legacy of saints, contributions of Bharat Ratna awardees, and the work of all Chief Ministers over the past 65 years. MP Sunil Tatkare stated that the goal is to present Maharashtra’s full history under one roof, so the new generation can understand and feel proud of this heritage.

As part of the Glorious Maharashtra Festival–2025, on May 22, MP Sunil Tatkare will pay respects at the memorial of the late Yashwantrao Chavan in Karad. On May 23, he will offer tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Raigad Fort and to Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at Chavdar Tale in Mahad. The concluding cultural event of the festival will be held at 6:30 PM at Kande Maidan, Mahad.
