Mumbai: The Western Railway to open the rebuilt Foot Over Bridge (FOB) connecting Wankhede Stadium ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 match, Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders on March 31 (Monday).

The Western Railway has completed the reconstruction of the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) that connects to Wankhede Stadium. The bridge, which offers easy access, is over the railway tracks between Churchgate and Marine Lines stations.

The Western Railway authorities confirmed on Friday that they have successfully rebuilt and reopened the Wankhede North Foot Over Bridge (FOB) for public use, as reported by Hindustan Times. The bridge is designed to enhance convenience for fans heading to the stadium ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 match. The reconstruction was completed in just eight months, according to reports.

In an X post by Mumbai Railway user they stated, "Great news for IPL fans! has rebuilt & opened the Wankhede North FOB ahead of #IPL2025! Completed in just 8 months with funding, the 48 m-long bridge ensures smooth access to the stadium. More upgrades by April 7."

Chief PRO, Vineet Abhishek, Western Railway, said: “The newly constructed FOB is now operational with two staircases - one at the east side (north facing) and another at the west side (north facing). This will ensure seamless movement of pedestrians, especially during the upcoming IPL matches. Additionally, the two other staircases (south facing) on the east and west sides will be handed over to the MCA by April 7, 2025” as per a report by Hindustan Times.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batting star Virat Kohli was spotted having a fun moment dancing with Ravindra Jadeja during the IPL 2025 match on Friday at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. A video that surfaced on social media showed the right-handed batter chatting with the all-rounder and smiling during the conversation.
