In a significant move to enhance passenger convenience and meet the increasing travel demand, Western Railway has announced the permanent addition of an extra AC Chair Car coach to the Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express (Train No. 12009/12010). The augmentation will take effect from March 31, 2025.

The Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express is one of the most popular train on the route, offering a premium travel experience with modern amenities. Known for its high-speed connectivity, the train plays a crucial role in facilitating business and leisure travel between the two major cities.

According to Western Railway officials, the addition of this extra AC Chair Car coach will increase the train’s seating capacity, accommodating over 65,000 additional passengers annually. Passengers can book tickets for the newly added coach through the IRCTC website, railway reservation counters, and authorized travel agents.
