Mumbai: A third-party data network outage impacted the check-in systems at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMI), Mumbai, on Saturday, causing delays in flight departures across multiple airlines, including Air India.

Air India issued an official advisory informing passengers about the situation. The airline stated: "A third-party data network outage had impacted check-in systems at Mumbai airport, thereby delaying flight departures of airlines, including Air India. The systems have since been restored; however, some of our flights may continue to be affected for some time as the situation normalises progressively."

While technical services have now been restored, Air India advised travellers that residual delays may continue temporarily as operations gradually return to normal. Passengers are requested to check flight statuses and reach the airport well in advance to avoid inconvenience.

In a separate incident at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMI), Mumbai, the Customs Department arrested a passenger arriving from Bangkok on Saturday for attempting to smuggle live wildlife into the country.

The passenger, identified as Sharukkhan Mohammed Hassian, was found concealing live animals inside a trolley bag. Upon detailed inspection, customs officials recovered two Kinkajous (Potos flavus), two Pygmy Marmosets (Cebuella sp.), and 50 Albino Red-Eared Sliders, according to reports from IANS.
