Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended multiple Dahi Handi celebrations across Mumbai and Thane on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami 2025 on Saturday. He was joined by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at several key events.
In Thane, both leaders were present at the grand Dahi Handi organised by the Tembhi Naka Mitra Mandal, which drew thousands of enthusiastic Govindas. CM Fadnavis also reached Vartak Nagar for the celebrations organised by Minister Pratap Sarnaik.

Sankalp Chowk, Thane: Celebrated DahiHandi Utsav 2025 with enthusiastic Govindas, organised by Sankalp Pratishthan.
Jambori Maidan, Worli: Parivartan Dahi Handi Utsav 2025 organised by Adv. Santosh Pandey, marked by energetic performances and large public turnout.
The Chief Minister praised the spirit of the youth and the cultural significance of Dahi Handi, while also extending greetings on Krishna Janmashtami. These events reflected the vibrant and festive mood across Maharashtra, showcasing unity, tradition, and devotion through the Govinda pyramids.

Dahi Handi celebrations in Mumbai reached new heights this year—literally. While the spotlight usually shines on the renowned Jai Jawan Govinda Pathak, it was Jogeshwari-based Konkan Nagar Govinda Pathak that stole the show by making history with a never-before-seen 10-tier human pyramid, leaving Mumbaikars in awe.
Starting early Saturday, Govinda squads from across Mumbai and Thane gathered to push their limits. But it was Konkan Nagar who emerged victorious in the afternoon, successfully forming a ten-level pyramid and securing a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.
