In a powerful display of determination and compassion, the Rotary Club of Bombay Pier has set wheels in motion on a mission to change lives. On July 13, 2025, the #4CornerIndiaDrive, an ambitious 40-day road expedition was flagged off at Nariman Point, Mumbai. This passionate team is crisscrossing 15,000 kms across India to raise awareness about cervical cancer and provide free HPV vaccinations to 1,00,000 underprivileged girls.
After successfully making it through 25 days of the drive and vaccinating girls across every city the laal pari has been to, the team has now reached Vishakhapatnam.
Stop fifteen: Tezpur, Assam
At Baptist Christian Hospital in Tezpur, they vaccinated 50 girls from underserved communities with the HPV vaccine. The well-coordinated effort, carried out with care and commitment, brought them one step closer to their goal of vaccinating 1,00,000 girls.
Stop sixteen: Kolkata
After narrowly avoiding a landslide, dealing with major car trouble, getting stuck in Amarnath pilgrimage traffic, enduring 12 hours of non-stop driving through torrential rain, forgetting their laptop in Siliguri, and almost crossing into Myanmar, Priya and Meena finally made it to Kolkata. At Anukaran Clinic, under the care of Dr. Dipanita Banerjee, 50 underprivileged girls aged 9–14 from Lighting Lives School received free cervical cancer vaccines, transforming a journey filled with challenges into a day of life-saving impact.
Stop seventeen: Vishakhapatnam
The City of Destiny welcomed the #4CornerIndiaDrive with warmth and wholehearted support. At Indus Hospitals, Health City, Arilova-a newly established facility with world-class infrastructure- they vaccinated 50 girls, mostly aged 9–14. Under the expert supervision of Dr. Priyanka, every step was carried out with strict observation protocols to ensure the children’s safety and comfort.
The event was graced by the DG Elect, along with the CEO and MD of Indus Hospitals, who chaired the function. In a strong display of Rotary camaraderie, clubs joined hands to arrange transportation, snacks, and giveaways for the children, supported by CSR contributions from nutraceutical companies.
From the valleys of Assam, to the waves of Vishakhapatnam, they continue their mission. One village, one rally, one vaccine at a time.
