Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The bodies of a young woman and her infant son were found with injury marks near the railway track in the Banganga area on Wednesday evening. Both were allegedly killed with a hard, blunt object.

Prima facie, police believe it to be a case of murder due to the serious injuries found on the bodies. However, the motive behind the crime is not yet known and will be revealed by officials soon.

On the basis of suspicion, the woman’s husband has been detained at Chanderi police station in Ashok Nagar district.

The deceased were identified as Rani Pal (25) and her infant son. Additional DCP (Zone-3) Ramsanehi Mishra said the police received information from railway employees around 7 PM that two bodies were lying near the railway track behind Shivkanth Nagar.

One body was of a woman, approximately 25 to 30- years- old, and the other was of a child, about one- and- a- half- years old.

The FSL team examined the scene and based on the severe injuries, police suspected it to be a double murder. A probe was launched and post-mortem examinations were conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, the Banganga police also received missing complaints about the woman and the child. During the investigation, the woman’s husband Jayram Pal’s role was found to be suspicious. Since he belonged to a village in Chanderi, the local police there were contacted and he was detained.
