Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An electric scooter caught fire In Indore’s Daliya Patti area setting 3 other nearby vehicles on blaze on Wednesday afternoon. 

Fortunately, no life was lost in the incident. However, the flames quickly spread to nearby vehicles, damaging a total of four, including a car.

According to Malharganj Police, the incident occurred around 3 pm in Lane No. 2, outside a grain shop. 

The electric scooter caught fire all of a sudden and the flames quickly spread to two parked bikes and another moped. The fire also reached a nearby car, burning its front portion.

The flames damaged the shutter and electric board of the grain shop as well. Residents acted quickly and poured water to control the fire before the fire brigade arrived. 

Fire trucks reached the spot later and sprayed water from above to ensure the fire was completely out.

Police said that, as per initial investigation, the fire started from the electric scooter itself. So far, no official complaint has been filed at the police station regarding the incident.

The reason for the fire is unknown at present. 

E-vehicles are frequently reported to cause fires, often due to issues with lithium-ion batteries such as faulty cells, poor manufacturing, or improper charging.
