Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): This time the sawari of Lord Mahakal will be taken out in a grander manner. Collector held a meeting at Simhastha Mela office on Saturday regarding the preparations for the sawari during the Shravan-Bhadav month.

In the meeting, it was informed that the first sawari of Lord Mahakal will be taken out on July 14, second on July 2q, third on July 28, fourth on August 4, fifth on August 11 and ‘shahi sawari’ on August 18.

The theme of each sawari will be different. The first sawari will be taken out on the theme of Vedic proclamation which will be done by the Batukas at Ramghat and Dutt Akhara enroute. Various tribal groups will give a presentation in the sawari of Lord Shri Mahakal.

In the meeting, it was informed that like every year, this year too, the Shravan Mahotsav will be organised every Saturday from 7 pm in the meeting hall of the Triveni Art and Archaeology Museum. In addition, cultural programmes under the name ‘Shri Mahakaleshwar Cultural Evening’ will be organised during 23 days from July 13 to August 16 (except on the day of Shravan Mahotsav, Sawari day, Nag Panchami and August 15).

Their presentation will be given near the statue of Sapt Rishis in the Shri Mahakal Mahalok complex from 6 pm to 8 pm, in which 47 artist groups from all over the country will perform

In the meeting, collector instructed that the work of sewer project has been conducted on Dhaba Road in Sawari Marg. The road should be asphalted there. It was informed that the work of road restoration has been completed there.

Instructions were given to cover the open drains on the Sawari route by July 8, apart from this, whatever encroachment is there around Shri Mahakaleshwar temple was asked to be removed as soon as possible. Instructions were given to install nets in front of the buildings which have become dilapidated.

The collector instructed that a special action plan should be made to manage the crowd of devotees on normal days and Mondays in the month of Shravan.

All traffic signboards should be installed compulsorily by July 10. It was informed that the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee will make arrangements for drinking water every 200-200 mt on the Sawari route. PA system and cameras will also be installed by the temple committee.

The collector also reviewed the arrangements for darshan in the month of Shravan-Bhadav. Information was given about the arrangements for entry and exit of Kavad pilgrims in Mahakaleshwar temple. Also, instructions were given to limit the number of people in the Sabha Mandap before the Sawari starts on Monday.

During the review of parking arrangements, instructions were given to arrange parking for VIPs near Neelkanth gate. Electrical safety audit of Shri Mahakaleshwar temple was asked to be completed on time.
