Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): B.Com third-year students from Girls College Ratlam collectively approached Collector's public hearing with an urgent problem. They explained that after completing their Vikram Vishwavidyalaya annual exams for 2024-25 academic sessions, all were marked "absent" in the Indian Economy subject when results were issued.

Acting swiftly, collector Rajesh Batham directed principal YK Mishra of Agrani Mahavidyalaya to contact university officials about the issue. Principal Mishra immediately contacted the university administration to explain the students' situation.

University officials promptly acknowledged the error and amended the mark sheets. The revised documents will now be available to all affected students.

The students' faces brightened with relief upon learning their grades would be corrected. They thanked collector Batham and the administrative team for their quick response.

Officials received 82 applications during the session. They resolved many issues immediately, while remaining matters were assigned to department heads with strict timeline instructions.

Two arrested for woman's murder

The discovery of an unidentified woman's body in a well on May 17 led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of her gold and silver ornaments in Ratlam on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Rajubai was reported missing by her family.

After gathering evidence and statements from family members, police formed a special team that apprehended Shankarlal Malviya (58) and his nephew Ishwar Malviya (38).

During questioning, both confessed to the murder, claiming they killed Rajubai over a financial dispute. They admitted to pushing her into the well after taking her valuables, including gold and silver jewellery, worth Rs 73,700.

Both suspects have criminal records, with Shankarlal previously charged under the Gambling Act and Ishwar facing multiple charges, including assault. Investigations are ongoing to recover the motorcycle used in the crime and verify all details surrounding the incident.
