Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A series of programmes are being organised in Ujjain, where Lord Krishna, along with his brother Balram and friend Sudama, got education at the Maharishi Sandipani Ashram, on July 10 to mark the occasion of the Guru Purnima festival.
Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Samaj national secretary Shailendra Dwivedi said that in coordination with Trishul Shiv Gan Vahini, a ‘Guru Poojan Yatra’ will start at 10 am from the Sandipani Ashram, Ankpat Marg, under the guidance of Sandipani descendant priest Pt Rahul Vyas and Rupam Vyas. A two-day celebration will be organised on July 9 and 10 at the Gayatri Shaktipeeth Ankpat gate.
On Wednesday, from 6 am to 6 pm, Akhand Gayatri Mantra Jap will be held and from 6 pm to 8 pm Deep Yagna will be held. On Thursday, at 7 am, worship Abhishek of Sajal Shraddha Prakhar Prajna. After the Gayatri Mahamantra initiation ceremony, festival worship, Gayatri Yagna from 8 am, prasad will be organised for the members.

Social organisation Tera Tujhko Arpan Seva Sansthan will worship the feet of parents on Guru Purnima. More than 500 devotees will be present at the programme of the Guru parents. President Dhananjay Sharma said that under the organisation’s Matri-Pitru Charan Upasana festival programme at Manorama Garden on Hira Mill Road, the families will worship the feet of their first Guru parents.
In the programme, the feet of the parents will be washed with holy water and then washed again with milk and holy water and then wiped with a pure cloth and perfume will be applied on the feet and worship will be done with kumkum, turmeric, abir, gulal, sandalwood, rice, and flowers.
During the programme, Krishna Mishra from Indore will celebrate ‘Margdarshak Diwas’ (Guidance Day) at the Central Bhairavgarg Jail. He will deliver the message about the significance of Guru Purnima in Kalyug.
